when i startup my pc its laggy and its a nuisance i cant even click mouse 2 to refresh and whenever i rover my mouse to the taskbar it gives me the loading icon. whenever i try to open a program it says not responding. to date I have found two solutions to this problem
1. Click around and wait for the windows explorer to give error and close it.
2. wait for 3-5 minutes before even doing anything

when i do them its no lag at all but i dont want to do this every single time i start up. help.

P.S memory is good. 25% out of 100% occupied in my HDD

All this assumes you haven't made changes recently, such as drivers, hardware etc.

Try Safemode. If still slow, suspect Windows file system (try file system repair), or perhaps hardware conflicts or problems.

Assuming Safe Mode isn't a 3-5 minute wait, reboot into normal mode, wait until it works, and install CCleaner, run it and Goto Tools / Startup and 'Save to text file'. Note that there are 'Windows' and 'Scheduled Tasks' tabs. Save them both with separate names. Then post both of them here. Even if we don't spot any oddities, we might be able to reduce the boot load a little. If doing THAT changes nothing, then it suggests something really wrong, such as hardware.

Other things to consider:

Run CCleaner and let it clean your system. You might have a lot of tidying required. Your HDD might be filling up. CCleaner's default options are generally safe to use, but by all means play with the options if you know your system. Also run the CCleaner registry scan / fix tool. It doesn't do much beyond deleting orphan registry entries, but every little helps.

It's also worth running a quick bench test, and posting a link to the results for us. It may ID or eliminate potential issues - http://www.userbenchmark.com

You may want to consider upgrading to an SSD too. That will completely solve any lagg issues at startup.
