Okay, to start it off, i have not had a good experience with this laptop by any stretch of the imagination. I have no clue if i got a defective unit or what, but this laptop does not, at all, seem to perform as good as anyone elses is. I'm 24/7 having to deal with freezing, stuttering, lagging, network issues, you name it, with anything that has to do with this laptop. Be it gaming, audio processing, video editing, watching videos online, downloading things, again, literally anything. Gaming is not fun at all, i stutter about every single game i play, i have fps issues, freezing issues, in all games. EVEN games from the early 2000's. It is ridiculous. Apologies for ranting so much, but i have tried everything in the book to fix these issues. I've reset the laptop about 5 times now, wiped the hardrive, fresh install of windows, uninstall/reinstall all drivers (literally all drivers), as well as updated every single driver on the pc to its newest version. Still, to this day (i have had it for about two years) nothing has worked. I am begging and pleading for someones help.

Specs:
1TB Hybrid Disk Drive
8GB RAM
GTX 960M 4 GB VRAM Variant
Intel 6700HQ Processor

Sometimes "tricks" backfire; review what you did.

You might run memtest86 to verify that you are using all ram.
You should be able to complete a full pass with NO errors.

Run cpu-Z to verify that you actually have the processor and graphics that you think you have.
While running apps, run windows task manager to see that all 8 threads can be utilized.
CPU-Z should show full speed when you are running.
Standard is 2.6 with a max turbo of 3.5.

Run something like HWmonitor to check operating temperatures.
Sometimes laptop coolers are not installed well and will cause throttling if the temperatures get too high.
I might expect 15-20c. while idle, and as much as 85c. under load.
100c. is the throttling point.

For gaming, verify that the...
Look into the windows power profiles.

For best performance, you need to run plugged in.
Otherwise, the default will be to use the integrated graphics, not the more power hungry discrete GTX 960M.
You may also be limiting the cpu power at less than 100?

For gaming, verify that the discrete gpu is selected.
You should be able to verify this in the nvidia control panel.
