Hello, I have a 1050 (not the "ti") Graphic Card and a 1080p screen.
However, I´m planning to upgrade to a 4k display while running the 1080p screen as well.
The thing is I usually play games so here´s my question.
I´m fine with my actual 1050 but I would like to play games on the 4k screen and as my card won´t manage it I thought downscaling games at 1080p but I´ve heard the image quality decreases, is it that bad?
My second thought was to improve my graphics card but I´m a student and I don´t have much money so i was thinking of buying a 1060. Will it be enough to run games on 4k on medium or high settings? Is the increase of price between the 6gb and 3gb worth it? Right now in Spain the difference is 267€ vs 340€.
Thanks in advance for your answers.

Solution
the 1050 should be able to output 4k but running game on the 4k nope.and yes downscaling to 1080 does have effect on the image quality and u are better off using the 1080p screen instead.the 1060 can handle 1440p but maybe a low or med on 4k depending on games.a 1070 or 1080 will do a much better job at 4k.and yes most game tend to run over 3gb depending on quality setting and if are u looking to game higher than 1080p get the 6gb.if it was me though i would save money for a new gpu first then get a new monitor in the future.
