Hello,
Long story short I picked up this combo as well as 2400 Ballistix RAM with a GT 1030. I'm moving parts from an exiting machine over to another and this is an upgrade for the one losing parts. Basically I'm not getting any video out to even see the bios. I am connected to the 1030 (tried both dvi and hdmi), not the motherboard outputs. Build seems to have power and all fans, etc. turn on correctly. I even installed a new power supply (nothing wrong with the old one, but it was from like 2012). I've moved the memory to different slots, tried removing cmos battery to drain, reset cmos via jumpers, nothing seems to work. When I connect the hdmi to the video card my monitor status light goes green momentarily but then shows no signal followed by going into a sleep state. Parts listed below.Any thoughts?

EVGA GT 1030
Ryzen 2700
Gigabyte GA-AB350M-Gaming 3
Crucial Ballistix 2400 DDR4 (one module)
Cooler Master Masterwatt Lite 500

Ok, so by my understanding, ryzen 2 is only compatible with motherboards that have an updated bios. So if your motherboard wasn't made in the last month or so, you will need to update the bios before you will be able to use your new processor. So, basically, use another PC to put a new version of your motherboard's bios on a USB flash drive, and then you'll have to use a first gen ryzen cpu to update the bios on your motherboard. AMD used to make kits to update the bios, not sure if they still do. Good luck to you sir.

Easiest way is to take the pc to a shop and have them flash the bios with a loaner cpu. Cheapest way is do it yourself but bully a friend into loaning you his Ryzen v1 cpu. Unless you buy a x470 mobo that's stock standard for the Ryzen v2/ Raven Ridge cpus, anything prior will require a bios update, which means you'll need a Ryzen cpu. Somehow.
