Hey guys I have a newly built pc and I just started having this issue.
I have a i7 8700k and gtx 1070. While playing pubg and squad my fps drops dramatically and the game gets really laggy and it won’t go away until i restart the game? It’s really wierd. This happened about 4 times in 1 week and I have no idea what’s causing it. My cpu and ram usualy it’s high at all. So I don’t think it’s bottlenecking any idea what is causing this sudden FPS drop.

Ok, so you have enough ram so pagefile isn't an issue. But if you've played around with it previously, return it to default settings and let Windows manage it. Or in some cases i've had people with stutters found increasing the page file size to 10GB or so helped which i found odd, benefit of the doubt.

You don't have Killer lan so this isn't an issue

Have you installed Chipset drivers for your motherboard?
https://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards/ROG-MAXIMUS-X-HERO/HelpDesk_Download/

Windows 10:

Is Win10 a fresh install or upgrade?
Have you configured power plans for maximum performance?
Have you disabled game bar? Game bar can break performance and it also includes xbox dvr recording which records your game play. On by default.

Nvidia:

Have you set to prefer maximum performance?
Have you tried Adaptive or Fast sync under Vsync option in Manage 3D?
Have you installed the latest Drivers? Use DDU to uninstall drivers first in Safemode, https://www.wagnardsoft.com/ Install DDU first before entering Safemode.

Malware/Virus

Have you ran a Malware scan? Use https://www.malwarebytes.com/

Ok so I built my pc a month ago and the only driver I didn’t install is my bios. (Asus ROG Maximus hero x) I ran malware scan yesterday found 1 thing removed it but issue still occurring. Also all my settings in bios are default I didn’t really mess with anything. I’ll have to check Nvidia settings when I get on.
