Hi, i recently built a pc and my Hyper 212 evo's x bracket sits too high on 1 side when screwing in the other side, like really high: https://ibb.co/buRDyc

I'm actually at a loss, I've installed this exact cpu cooler on a previous build of mine, they're both lga 1151, this particular mobo is a z370a prime while my previous was a z170, but i had no issues installing it before, the screws sat evenly. I should mention that when it sits without any of the screws screwed in, there is a couple of mm of space in between the screws and the standoffs that weren't there on my previous mobo. Oh and I'm only turning the screw in a single rotation, and even pushing down so that one screw reaches the standoff will cause the height to be too high on the other side, I've tried pushing really, really hard to get it to go in but i feel like I'll break something if i push any harder. Any help is appreciated

@COLGeek The only other screws that came with the cooler are half the length of these so i dont think that's the problem, and it's centered properly as far as i can tell, the screw in the middle of the bracket is in the hole on the heatsink and the notch in front of it is as well, it sits perfectly level but since there's too much space in between the screws and the standoffs, when i try to screw one in the few mm it has to go down to reach the standoff causes the other side to rise too much, if that makes sense, it really seems like i would need higher standoffs but these are all that came with it, besides the previously mentioned smaller ones.

Check the manual to make sure you didn't miss something (especially page 6):

You also need to remove the protective film from the white shroud on the motherboard before using the system.

I checked the manual and as far as i can tell i didn't do anything wrong, it's just the x bracket screws have too much clearance between the standoffs for it to work properly. Also yeah i was gonna take the film off after putting the cooler on, but i guess I'll have to return it and wait a few days for a different cooler :/

@shadyhamster i literally turned it 1 time, and it pushes up like that regardless of it being screwed in or not, even pushing it down to the standoff without screwing it in at all causes the other side to lift, hence my confusion, as it seems like the standoffs just aren't high enough

Well, following the advice of a friend, i took the cooler back to micro center and they gave me a new one. I thought it would be functionally identical; however, it came with risers that the previous cooler was lacking in the packaging, they look like these little black rings that slide onto the bottom of the standoffs, and they worked, the screws now reach the standoffs c: Thanks for all the help though everyone
