Hi to all.
I'm facing a very strange issue.
In our company we had give to all our sellers laptop and usb stick for internet.
We use Cisco vpn to be able to login in our main system and email using OWA (outlook web access)
In 2 of them i have problem.
When they use the usb stick for internet after they "lock" the vpn they can see their email's.
If they connect in the internet from home routers they can't!!!!!

Any idea why this happened?????

So should I assume that when you say they can't access OWA from their home routers, they're using the same laptops and VPN client, and those laptops still get connected over the VPN, but they just can't reach those OWA mail server?

If that's the case, then the only thing that immediately comes to mind is perhaps a routing conflict. Let's say your workplace uses 192.168.1.x for its local network. If the local network on which you are running the VPN client happens to be on that same IP network, then all attempts to route to the mail server (let's say that's 192.168.1.100) will fail since the client assumes that address is local to YOU, not remote!

IOW, one potential problem w/ any VPN is the possibility that the two sides being connected coincidentally are using the same local IP network. And that's considered a configuration error. This is a common problem w/ ppl who insist on using the all-too-common 192.168.1.x and 192.168.0.x networks. With a VPN, each side must be using unique, non-overlapping IP networks (e.g., 192.168.1.x and 192.168.2.x) in order to communicate. It may be that when using the usb stick (cellular/mobile), this conflict never arises. The cellular network is probably using something more obscure, like 172.16.79.x, or 10.56.119.x.

Anyway, that's just a guess. There's not much to go on here. But I've seen this type of problem many times. Anyone using a VPN at home is well advised to use an obscure local network rather than the default 192.168.1.x or 192.168.0.x. If you don't, the chances of a routing conflict w/ a VPN server are much higher.
