PC Guy came over, told me some problems with my pc...

I have this motherboard: Gigabyte - GA-AB350M-HD3 (rev. 1.0) Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard and he said it didn't like ryzen 5 1400... Is this true? He told us it needed to be flashed so it could update, but i thought am4 was ryzen exclusive??? We can take it into the pc shop and get it done but not sure if it will work... hoping i didnt put cpu in wrong way...

The AB350 chipset supports Ryzen processors, including the ryzen 5 1400.
If it does not work, take it to a shop, get the latest BIOS version on it, and if the problem still exists RMA the motherboard!

Is your system not booting? It seems kind of odd that the board you have wouldn't support that processor given both the supporting BIOS and the chip was released around a year ago. I pretty sure almost all of the motherboards (probably more than 90% if not all) on the shelf today should support that processor with their initial BIOS. The first BIOS for that board Supports only the 1700, 1700X, and 1800X. The second added support for the 1400, 1500X, 1600, and 1600X. The third added support for the 1200 and 1300X.

The thing is though that the board was released in March of Last year, the second BIOS in April, and third in June of that same year. The likeliness of getting a board today with the original release BIOS unless used is almost zero.

On another note is this computer as I asked at the beginning not booting or are you having any other issues with the system?

That GA-AB350M-HD3 (rev. 1.0) handles not all but some Ryzen 3,5 and 7 models, according to http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Gigabyte/GA-AB350M-HD3(rev._1.0).html

for Ryzen 7 Bios F1 is needed
for Ryzen 5 Bios F2 is needed
for Ryzen 3 Bios F3 is needed

so you need F2 bios installed on that motherboard for the cpu to work.

It wasn't booting, everything else normal, took it into a guy, hopefully he fixes it because im stuck on integrated on a lappie
