I I've been trying to figure this out for a while, but I'm looking at two ASRock motherboards and can't seem to figure out the difference. They are the AB350 Pro4 and the X370 Pro4. The chipsets seems to be the only difference I can find. They both have the same exact features, just the AB costs less. Anyone know more about them to educate me?

You are right, there is very little difference between these 2 boards. Here is the summary from a recent review of the X370 Pro4.

Final Thoughts
The ASROCK X370 Pro4 is one of their newer motherboards targeting Raven Ridge buyers. It offers a slightly expanded feature set compared to B350 motherboards, stronger iGPU output support, and a beefier SoC VRM for the iGPU.

I plan on using a 1600 with the stock cooler. Don't really intend to overclock at all (unless it's a few years down the road and I need to to keep up). I plan on using it for future ryzen CPUs as long as the socket is still supported, but the intention of this build is a budget build with plans for upgrading without having to essentially rebuild.
