So currently I have a pretty cheap motherboard
Gigabyte GA-h110m-a motherboard
i5-6600 (not K) CPU
1x 8gb kingston RAM (was planning to add another 8gb stick but now RAM prices are high)
GTX 1060 6gb GPU
In some CPU heavy apps, I don't get the best performance. Mainly this rig is for gaming, and it seems like my GPU use isn't maxing out, but my CPU is. If I upgrade to a 7700k, will my cheap motherboard limit me? Is upgrading to a 7700k the logical thing to do here? I feel like my GPU is exceeding my expectations, but my CPU is definitely not. I forget what my power supply is, but I have way more than enough power so that's not an issue.
Also, will I have to buy a new CPU cooler or will the stock cooler that came with my i5-6600 work? A new i7-7700k doesn't come with any cooler unless you pay a bit extra correct?
Thanks in advance!
