I can’t tell if my GPU is going to fit my case

Hi so I’m looking to upgrade my GTX 760 to a 1070 but the 1070 is an inch longer - I’ve looked in my case and and I think I can get away with an extra inch on one end however the end it is screwed down onto the motherboard with is right up against something - is there anyway to know if the inch will be ‘added’ on the side that will fit for me ?

Cheers!

Here is the drawing of a referenc card. On the bottom you can see the PCI interface that goes into your motherboards PCI slot. The distance of this connector to the connectors that face towards the back of your PC case (DVI, HDMI, DP) is standard. If one card is longer than another it can only mean that it is longer in the direction of the right side of this drawing, towards the front of your PC case. (Width would mean distance from motherboard to pc case side panel.)

So if your new card i going to be longer, it will extend...

Measure your current gpu with another inch to it. If that fits it fits and nothing will be in the way on the right.

Concerned with the length mate and it would hit the back of the case - but I don’t understand like the inch bigger that it is , is it an inch bigger overall or on one side ? I have an inch free on one side of the card but not the other

Okay lets do it this way. Tell me exact model of your current GPU and the GPU you will buy. it will just be longer towards the right.
