so as i'm sure everyone knows, the PS4 doesn't have a very good CPU, so depending on the game, like in my case, Monster Hunter World, Doom or any other Processor heavy game, after about 5-10 minutes the CPU starts heating up and therefore the fan starts kicking up to cool it down. and yes i have ripped this thing open, cleaned out all the dust, and replaced the Thermal Paste, so it's not that.

My question, as stupid as this may sound to some one you, if i were to kick the Resolution down to 720p instead of 1080p would that reduce the work that the system is doing, and therefore, keep the CPU from heating up so quickly? again i know this is a stupid question, but i haven't been able to find anything on google.

Seen this question asked before.

The answer is no , makes no difference at all.

Games will still be rendered at their preset resolution them downscaled or upscaled depending on your output resolution.

Doesn't work like a pc in that respect.
