Hi!
so i have this old machine Dell vostro with i5 2400, 4 gigs of ram and a wd500 WD5000AAKX hard drive, lately the hdd started showing signs of failure(hangs up , slows down, os keeps rebooting ) i did a chkdsk command check the problem kinda disappeared ,i formatted and reinstalled windows all looked fine , stayed in good shape like a couple of days until the problem resurfaced this time i used crystal disk info a caution status appeared , i scanned with HDtune discovered a bad block also i noticed an id 7 error event, what amazed me is that next day every thing went back to normal like magic !!! should i replace this drive or not ?

Solution
When you start getting bad blocks it's only a matter of time until the drive goes wrong, if you have precious data on there then just get a new drive immediately, a 1 or 2tb disk isn't very much money these days, especially if you're worried about losing your data.
