boot problem , fans running yet no signal on monitor

Hello everyone!
Well let the story begin. For the last week and after two weeks of not using my pc(vacation) my pc has restarted(more like power outage and instant restart) several times by itself(2-3). So i checked the inside of my case and found it to be dirty. I took my pc gently to the local computer store(more like technicians) for an internal cleanup. They called me the next day saying that my pc wouldn't boot. Here is where the strange things start appearing. First of all , when my hdd and (or) graphics card isn't plugged in it will start booting for about 2 seconds and then shut down. It won't behave like it has power(mobo lamb is on) unless i unplug and reconnect to power supply. If i connect to the hdd drive and graphics card it all runs smoothly(all fans run at normal speed and i think i can recognise my hdd drive spinning) yet there is no signal on my monitor. Furthermore the hdd red light stays always on with no beeps(mobo speaker). I have already changed the CMOS(it did have problems of losing date and time after long periods on unusage) battery yet nothing changes. Any suggestions? Could it be a short of my motherboard?

Sounds like a motherboard issue. I have had similar issues where out of no where my Tower wouldn't boot but with different combinations of components being taken in and out, I would get different booting variants. In the end I replaced my Mobo and all issues were resolved. It is possible while the store was cleaning it they hit something or screwed with something they should have not. If the board is somewhat new, the company most likely will trouble shoot it for you under warranty and if it is fixable, fit it for you and replace the parts that are damaged. I prefer to get new when something like this happens, I don't trust sending my mobo in the mail and having a random person I do not know attempt to fix it.

thank you for your suggestions but i practically cant buy a new one since its outdated and quite overpriced in my country and i'd rather try at least to fix it. I would have to upgrade most of the components of my pc otherwise.
