Should I use 4 GB DDR2 RAM(2x2) or 2GB DDR3(x1) Ram in 2018?

My specs are :

MONITOR - 1366x768 resolution Dell
MOBO - Dell Vostro 230 07N90W
CPU - Pentium E5400 2.7 GHZ
PSU - 450 Watt Zebronics
GPU - Zotac 710 2GB DDR3
CURRENT RAM - 1 GB DDR3(However, It seems that my 1066mhz Ram gets underclocked to 800 mhz)

1> I have only 2 slots of Ram. Also I do not think that I will be upgrading my System for the next 2
to 3 years, after that I think that I will go for a complete upgrade of system such as changing
RAM, CPU, MOTHERBOARD etc.
So I want an upgrade which will allow me to play games such as BATTLEFIELD 4 etc. at
medium or low settings or an upgrade which will give me a smooth gaming experience at
minimum 35 fps or more(Though high settings will be preferred).
2> Also my motherboard with a chipset of g41 only supports maximum of4GB DDR3 Ram(as
shown on internet) but 8 GB of DDR2 Ram.

Solution
According to the spec sheet, your motherboard can take up to 4GB or DDR3.

Nothing is said about DDR2. Don't use DDR2.

Go with two sticks of DDR3....2GB each....1066 MHz.
