Sound card on 2.1 speaker?

Will adding a sound card to my PC for 2.1 speakers improve sound quality at all?

I'm thinking of adding a sound card like Asus Xonar DX or Creative to my Logitech Z333 speakers.. though motherboard has inbuilt hd audio capacitors (GA-B250M-D2V)

Any suggestions?

If your current setup is a 2.1 config, then adding a discrete sound card might help. The included software packages may allow you to fine tune the audio more to your likely, but personally, I wouldn't bother.
