Does new hard disk solves the problem?

Hello all! I hope you are good.

I have Asus N550JK laptop and for last months, it is always at %100 of disk usage. I deleted & reinstalled Windows 10, downloaded all the drivers but no, it is still like this. You know, disk usage makes games, programgs laggy...
So I downloaded HD Tune Pro and it said "Interface CRC error count", there may be a problem with the cables. I have gone to a local technical service and they adviced me that if I buy a new SSD and install Windows in it, then clean the old disk for using storage (games, videos, documents etc.) would solve the problems.

In long story short, I have one hard disk which is always at %100 disk usage. If I buy a new SSD and install Windows in it, then clean the old hard drive and install my games, programs in this old one; would my games and programs run well?
Will my hard drive still slow down the programs or games in it even though Windows is installed in another disk?

Hello ozhanefe, recommendation is to test the hard drive first to see in what state of health its in. Look for the manufacture of the drive and run its recommended software to test it. That way you save yourself time and headaches in the long run. Best of luck.

Thanks for your response. I used Seagate tool to check my disk, and run the long full test(Not the fast one). Yes, it is back to normal usually but we leaved the task manager open just to observe and disk usage becomes %60-50 sometimes while on empty desktop and nothing is running. While running other programs it sometimes jumps to %100 for few seconds.

I am really curious about this question: Will my hard drive still slow down the programs or games in it even though Windows is installed in another disk?

Thanks!

Thanks again for your response. I have one hard disk that everything is installed in it and there is also 1TB of free space in it right now. I can't remember the Seagate test results, but I have done the full scan and it was finished. But this hard disk is damaged, since it uses %100 of disk without a reason, anytime (I tried the software parts and disabling Windows services, also and all of my drivers are up to date). I am planning to buy an SSD, install only Windows in it, and using hard disk that I own now for my programs, gaming and storage. Would my programs, games etc. still work slow since the disk is damaged? Or is this problem causes because the operating system is installed in a damaged hard disk? Is my computer generally freezes because my OS is in a "damaged" hard disk or it freezes because I try to reach "damaged" data in specific programs, games.

Thinking a bit more about this, suggestion would be first to test your memory. This very well could be associated to failing memory module. It is best to test it now, than replacing the drive and being back to square one. Came to this conclusion as Seatools did not give any warnings, you are not getting any SMART error alerts and drives tend to fail from one day to the next.

As for your question. Games/programs can act in a variety of ways if the drive is not in optimal condition. If you suspect the drive is not working properly then you should not use it (and back up the info as soon as possible) for storing any media. Keep me posted.
