I recently assembled a computer a did some testing with cpu stock fan and water cooler: corsair h60.

Long story short, I had some issues with temperature which I found too high, so I replaced it, changed the paste with the only one available in this country (cheapest stuff available) and used it for a week without issue, consistently monitoring it. (40 idle, 60-70 gaming)

Today when applying the new paste I ordered (cooler master mastergel) I noticed two or three tiny holes, the size a pen tip on top where the paste is applied. I should have taken a picture I know but in hurry I just put the new paste and started everything again. The temperature is better than before, my worry is that I cannot find anything online regarding those holes, it was certainly not holes that were there before. (30-40 idle, 60-70 gaming).

Nb: I live in southeast asia and this is the hottest month of the year.

What holes?
Do you mean the little bump in lower right corner of heat-spreader?

It doesn't sound like that's what they're referring to...

A photo would probably help. Does it look like there's corrosion or anything, or just holes? And what kind of thermal compound was this exactly? It seems unlikely to me that any kind of compound would eat through a heat spreader in a week though.
