CPU Overheating Suddenly

Hi, I recently built my own computer and everything has been fine for around 8 months. However, suddenly tonight it has started boosting my CPU temp to 90+ degrees pic I have attached shows when I have just started up at 70 degrees Celsius!) It shows load at 25%, I am simply downloading something. Clock speed at 156mhz, fan speed 766 RPM. Completely lost as to why this has started, was completely fine last night. I have no other cooler to test with either. All fans seem to be spinning also.

I have reapplied the thermal paste, solved nothing. Remounted he CPu block, cleaned fans. The tubes get hot near the CPU which come from the X62.

Specs are
Gigabyte GA Z97X G3 Mobo
MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GAMING X 3 GB GDDR5 Memory PCI Express 3 Zero Froze Cooling Graphics Card
Kraken X62 CPU Cooler
Intel Core i5 4430 Quad Core Retail CPU (Socket 1150, 3.00GHz, 6MB, Haswell, 84W, Intel Graphics, BX80646I54430, 4th Generation Intel Core, Turbo Boost Technologyo 2.0)
I have intake in the front, exhaust top and back
S340 Elite Case NZXT
550w PSU (possibly needs upgrading)

Any help would be appreciated :)

Yep, contact NZXT and avoid using the PC until you get the cooler sorted out. Should be under warranty. Those kinds of temps are bad for the processor. AIO coolers especially Krakens I've found to have pump reliability issues.

- If your cooler pump is not on either a pump or SYS fan motherboard header already, try moving it to one and put your radiator fans on your CPU fan header.

- Check your fan and more importantly pump RPM using the CAM software. Verify your pump speeds are around 1800RPM or around 60% at least under load. It sounds like you may have an issue with the pump. Inadequate case cooling generally doesn't cause CPU temps that high. The only other possibility is a cooler mounting issue which is unlikely as it ran fine for months.

Thanks for clearing that up :)

Could you suggest a different type of cooler then perhaps? Don’t really want another kraken if that’s a known fault! Air cooling may be an option?

This would all happen to be on the day I get the BfA beta invite!

Personally I stopped recommending AIO liquid coolers last year due to reliability issues with the pumps. It's not a question of if they will fail it's a question of when. Big air coolers I trust much more. With a non overclock able Intel Core i5 4430 an entry level aftermarket air cooler like the Hyper 212 EVO or Cryorig H7 would keep at safe long term temps for gaming/general use. I would go for the H7 as the 212 EVO is taller and just barely fits in the S340 case.
