Ryzen 5 2600 Over-Heating Or Is It?

Recently picked up a Ryzen 5 2600 to replace my 1300x and when I installed it, both CAM and Core Temp said it was idling at around 80C. I assumed I just installed the cooler (stock) incorrectly. I reinstalled it two more times, cleaned and fresh paste between each, with the same result. However, Afterburner, Ryzen Master, and the BIOS say it's around 30-35C. It's definitely being throttled though because it took almost an hour and a half to render a video that took my 1300x under 40 minutes. Any help would be appreciated!

You never said at which voltages it's operating when hitting high temps. Left to it's own devices, most BIOS put too high voltage at default. All 3 of my Ryzen chips (1600x, 1700x and 2700x) I was able to set voltage not to exceed 1.4v at full OC frequency. There is also -20c offset in first series of Ryzen and -10c offset in Ryzen2 so BIOS and SW may not be adjusted for it. HWInfo https://www.hwinfo.com/download.php is most accurate program for Ryzen and shows both temps.

it could also be if you have temp issues you are maybe applying the paste wrong or way too much? I always use a like a pea sized (smaller then that but like a pea in the direct middle of the CPU then put the cooler on it. IF you get any air bubbles between it and the cooler it will act like a blanket :)

Oh and with that said I always use aftermarket better coolers especially if it will be in a warm environment. I have been using the AIO water coolers the last few years on my systems just to be sure to not have heat issues.

I thought that may have been the problem, but I installed it a total of four times with no change. I also reinstalled my 1300x the exact same way and it had normal temps. Plus the BIOS and two softwares give normal temps.

My 2700x reported astronomically high temps with Cam and CoreTemp. I had to verify the correct temp with Ryzen Master, the Bios, and HWInfo. All of those reported normal temps for me. I'm thinking Cam and CoreTemp need to update to account for some change within the 2xxx series Ryzens.
