500+ watts should be just fine. Depending on the quality you could probably get by with a 450. Remember, that number typically isn't the max output.

One thing.... JUST GET A GOOD ONE!! This is one of the most important components in your build. If you cheap out you can end up with instability, fried components or even fire. Not kidding, I've seen all three.

For decent quality and still aggressive pricing, there's a few good seasonic models out there. Corsair and evga too. There's bad model lines within those manufacturers also though.

400-500W should do you considering the 1050Ti doesn't even have a 6 Pin but I would go for a good 650W incase you want to swap things around later. PSU's last ages and should do you another full system upgrade or two.

my 1050 ti does its a strix

But it's still a 1050Ti unless you do some OCing it won't actually need the 6 pin much and all decent PSU's have at least one 6 Pin.

and it says in the description that its mega overclocked by me
not factory overclocked

Under 2000mhz is a mega OC now? I was hitting that on a 1060 without issue or much effort. Just had a look and it's a 75W power draw when OC to 1911 vs a 50 odd standard. and the CPU wouldn't be totalling more than 200 because the 9590 was around 200 at 5Ghz.

I'd go with a good 650W for headroom

What exactly do you mean by "headroom" in this case? That is a word thrown around a lot and I'm fairly certain people are all talking about different things when they use it.

Upgrading and overclocking. FX chips can easily draw 200W when knocking around 5Ghz with the 9590 being 220W base TDP with a system undergoing a CPU stress test drawing 250W+ . Throw in a couple of GPU's and you're well over 500W

But why should we assume what OP is going to do in the future instead of asking OP? And even if OP plans to run two GPUs sometime in the future, that does not constitute that it's unwise to get a lower wattage PSU at the moment. Perhaps the current financial situation is difficult, we don't know.

OP won't know what they'll be doing in 5-10 years. Plus running a PSU at half capacity allows it to run silently.

If you want a silent PSU you should buy a silent PSU not a higher wattage PSU. The fans in higher wattage units generally need to spin at higher RPMs so their minimum RPMs are higher which actually can make them louder.

You do know that a lot of PSUs have a fanless mode right? They just have to be under half load.

Corsair CXM-450w will run that FX + OC, 1050ti +OC easily. What ya'll and most ppl miss is load calculations. If you figure 200w for max cpu, 100w for the mobo/pc and 100w for the gpu + OC, you still have only pulled a theoretical maximum of 400w. Good luck trying to achieve that. You honestly will never be able to run the cpu at 100%, with a gpu at 100%, every header, port, pcie, fan, drive at 100% and still have the pc function. It'll throttle and slow long before that. That 400w is absolute maximum. For heavy gaming usage, figure @70% of max as at best draw, so under heavy gaming, expect @280w draw on the psu.

280w is just peachy on a 450w decent psu. More 'headroom' than you could use.

Psus with fanless modes don't work like that. They are thermistor controlled, meaning they'll only kick on the fan when the psu reaches a certain temperature, not load %. Vast difference. Fanless mode psus tend to kick on the fans far faster in India, especially during the summer months when ambient temps easily reach 40°C or better than psus in a air-conditioned room kept at @20-22°C. Load had little to do with it.

Except it would be very easy to hit 100% load on that CPU and GPU in games and peak draw is a thing. Plus my argument was for upgrades and silent operation.

More Load = More heat

ALL 650W power supplies are not quieter than ALL 450W power supplies at 200-300W load. Likewise, ALL 450W power supplies are not quieter than ALL 650W power supplies at 200-300W load. This is something I think we all would agree on.

Therefore, advising to get a 650W PSU solely on the basis of wattage alone is erratic. This is not a situation in which generalizations are helpful.

Except for the GPU-less business rigs, I have little use for the 'just barely enough' 400-450 watt PSUs....

A decent bronze 600 watt can be had for $50 or less....; I'd always prefer to have 200 watts to spare than to be running a PSU at 80-90% capacity...

(Someone will be along soon to recommend a 450 watt Platinum (at only double the cost, mind you), touting it's energy 'efficiency' when run at 95% load, which translates to wasting 2 less watts, etc....

More power to them, but, I won't do it.

Lol you'd only realistically need that for mining or Overclocking extreme edition CPUs. Parts are getting more efficient all the time and a 650W is a good spot for not being overkill for the current system, therefore avoiding being inefficient and being large enough to accommodate a good chunk of hardware later down the line.

And in terms of quietness I'm talking about good quality power supplies such as Corsair, Seasonic or EVGA. It wise not to cheap out on your PSU because it's likely to be the part that's with you longest.
