StoreMi HDD recomendations

Building a new rig with the new X470 chipset board which has the new StoreMi software my question is since the software moves the more frequently used data too the SSD and the less used data to the platter drive in an SSD+HDD setup would a WD Green HDD be acceptable as the HDD in that set-up or should u still use a more performance spec'd drive such as the WD Black or Red thanks for any and all thoughts on this

I always go for 7200 rpm drives in performance builds. You will need a red pro to get 7200 rpm's. The normal ones are 5400.

Just getting an SSD is even easier yet....

And with most boards having at least a pair of M.2 slots....Win-Win

yes i have an ssd but the new AMD StoreMi pairs a SSD with a HDD into a sort of "mini raid" tiered storage system and through AI software moves the more frequently used portions of programs to the faster device while leaving the less used elements on the HDD. it is an enterprise type management system so wouldn't a more power efficient WD Green type of drive be the most logical to use

What size actual SSD are you getting with this?
This StoreMI looks exactly like a typical SSHD. How much SSD space can it use?

the free software with X470 chipsets is 256gb max but u can get a license for larger sizes through the company, and from all i've read it is way better than the typical sshd.

Gaming mostly. now if u do buy the upgraded license you can also pair multiple HDD into the mix as is i was going with the 256GB m.2 SSD and a 2TB HDD i just have 2 different 2TB HDD's and the Green is a couple years newer

Personally, I'd just use the SSD as it is, for the OS and applications.
Instead of trying to marry it with an HDD.
