Hello,

Im looking forward in making new build for my sister.
Shes working as graphic designer, also creating some CAD and Video stuff.

Biggest problem i have is a socket to start with.
I want it to have big upgrade potential. But as of now dont have unlimited money.

So i was thinking maybe dual CPU LGA3647 with single silver xeon for now?
Than she can get 2nd CPU and go for platinum anytime in future.

Or should we stick to some ryzen?

Other thing i wonder are those industrial GPU cards, are they worth the extra peny?

What else should we consider? Speed is important, but the build has to be worry free. Cant afford BSOD's compatibility problems etc.

Apreciate!

You don't have unlimited money, but what's your budget? Is your sister actually doing heavy regular design work with big 3d models that need to be 101% accurate because they're going to be real buildings? Or is she just doing this stuff in the side for some quick cash? Is she actually making money to justify spending what would be like 5-7k on a system like you're proposing?

Low end xeons like the silver are for consistent processing power at a low power usage, like running an email server, active directory, file server print server, all on one box, with different virtual machines each monopolizing a core or two.

I thought Xeon could be good choise, becouse it offers most powerfull solutions. So that whenever she wants to upgrade, she would have close to unlimited possibilities. With 8180 at 10k usd and being able to use two of those on one mobo it creates pretty much endless possibilities...

But i guess its bit of an overkill. Would going for like Threadripper 1900X on the TR4 socket be a good choise? It seems to give best scores for a professional. And is currently most future proof from what we can choose?
