Can I fit a GTX 960 into a dc7900 Small Form Factor?

Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade my HP dc7900's graphics capabilities, and
currently have a hd6450 (stop laughing, gtx 1080 owners), mainly for
the dual monitor option, which I use.

Looking on second-hand sites, a good upgrade is looking like a GTX 960
(screw you, team red). However, after a lot of googling, I can't seem
to find whether there is one that will fit in my case. It's a small
form factor, so I believe, from my limited knowledge of graphics card
sizes, that I would need a low profile card.

My questions - which size cards will fit in my case, and is there a
GTX 960 that will fit?

For those that read this waffle to the end (you've likely seen worse,
but you haven't seen some of my essays), thank you for trading, and
thank you in advance for any answers to my questions. (I said, stop
laughing 1080 owners. I have a lower budget, get over it!)

Our company recycled a bunch of those awhile back. They have 240w power supplies in them and no 6-pin pci-e connector.

So no. You cannot use that card. You'd have to buy another PSU and have it sitting outside of the case.

First of all, does your PSU have a 6 pin connector, and do you know the wattage? Your current build psu might not support a GTX 960 to start with.

Size wise, it seems like you will need a 'slim' AND 'short' gpu but it will support a dual slot GPU.

So the short answer would be no, then. Or consider a GT 1030 if you would be satisfied with that.

It is only 240W - Model No. 460974-001. As far as I can tell, it doesn't have a 6-pin connector.

Specs:
-8GB DDR2
-Q8200 Core 2 Quad @2.33Ghz]
-Currently, a PCIe HD 6450

Would a half-height 730 work instead? With the lower wattage. Does it need an extra power input? I'm very limited by the space in my case, as it's only SFF and I think I'll need a half-height card.

OK. Would it be possible to buy another PSU for, say, £20, that would replace the one in the case and fit into the case?

I'm having issues researching for my device because my Small Form Factor seems to be an abstract term, and I don't think I have an ATX motherboard, but a HP proprietary form factor.

I looked on a power consumption calculator and it would need a 300 PSU for full power with a 730. Even with my current setup, the minimum exceeds my PSU's capability. http://www.coolermaster.com/power-supply-calculator/
Also, how much power would a 1030 need, and what sort of prices are they available for at the moment. (In case you haven't noticed, graphics card pricing is through the roof ATM.)

The 1030 requires a minimum of a 300w.

You will need another psu. You may/will have difficulty getting one to fit inside your case, but you could always use some double-sided tape/adhesive and attach it somewhere on the outside(as long as you don't care how things look).
