Safe cpu voltage?

Right now i am overclocking my cpu and i am just wondering how much voltage should i give to my cpu? I was testing 3.5 ghz with 3.5 and 3.75 voltage but it was unstable. Now i am testing with 4 voltage and i will comment results.
My specs:
Amd phenom ii x4 960t 3.00ghz
Asrock n68 vs3 ucc
Hynix 4gb ddr3 1333mhz single channel
64 gb ssd
R7 260x

It is an old pc but it can still play some games.program i am using to test overclock is prime95 and for temps HWinfo. Only thing i changed in the bios is that i disabled turbo everything else is stock. Please dont post comments like buy a new pc or something like that cuz i am only 14 and my parents dont want to buy me a new one.
So how much voltage is safe for my motherboard and cpu?

AMD recommends not exceeding 5V for that series of K10 processors. But on that board, gettting a good OC may not be possible. It isn't designed for OC'ing... even if the options are present in BIOS. There's only 3 phases and no heat sync on the VRMs (they get really hot as the voltage is raised). Not a good candidate for OC'ing, I'm afraid.

Does that BIOS let you unlock cores? If so, you might try seeing if the 2 disabled cores are stable. (The Ph II X4 960T is a Thuban 6 core with 2 disabled cores)

Is that the 960T Black Edition with an unlocked multiplier?

Another thing is that the OC you finally end up getting might not be any better than letting it run stock and keeping turbo mode enabled. Depending on the number of cores used, it can run up to 3.4GHz on turbo.

Thank you for your response clutchc. Yesterday i was testing 3.5ghz at 4 voltage like i said in the original post and it was stable in aida64 and prime95. Then i wanted to try out csgo and i noticed some freezing in windows. In csgo after about 30 seconds game dropped to 20fps. Since you say that it is not an overclocking motherboard i wont play around with it anymore so i don't damage it.

My bios does support unlocking cores and it worked on my old athlon but the temps were too high around 75 deegres on full load. On this cpu it doesn't even boot into windows.

Yes. It is 960t black edition with unlocked cores

Just like you said it is better if i just keep it on stock with turbo enabled.

When you had it stable @ 3.5 GHz, did you notice any throttling? If throttling was present at peak load, that might explain the drop in frame-rate. What gfx card were you using, and at what resolution and other settings?

I was using HWinfo for temps but maximum temp it recorded was 49 deegres which doesnt seem right. I was using msi r7 260x oc edition. 1366x768 and settings were
Low
High
High
Low
2x msaa
16x anisotropic filtering
All below disabled

I reverted my bios to default and its all running fine right now but i will look out for some cheap am3 boards that are better.

Normally, on Phenom IIs (K10/Dragon) when you unlock disabled cores, you loose the temp feedback. It will either display "0" or some low value that means nothing. But 49C seems like a valid temp. Was that with cores unlocked???
Maybe the K10/Leo chips are different.
