What slots does my ram go into ?

Hello,

I have a asus z-97k mobo & looked at a manual and saw something saying channels. It has 4 ram slots available and im using 2. I currently have them in the last 2 but I always thought you left a gap but yet in the manual it looked right.

Any answers??

Yes that's ok. They make the ram slots the same color to denote which slots to put them in. It's a visual aid and why the other 2 slots are a different color.

If you've got two sticks and you want them to run in dual channel (as they should), place them in the corresponding slots that the manual specifies.

I've got 2 and have them in the last 2 (so i think channel b) is this okay? Or should I put them in channel a (first 2)

So just to confirm, I do (from left to right) Space,RAM,SPACE,RAM. Is this okay?
