Just bought a SSD and a new HDD to replace my almost 10 year old HDD. I just migrated windows 10 over to the SSD and wiped everything. Now I am wondering how can I install programs such as steam, or games over to my HDD so it basically automatically downloads it to the HDD rather than SSD.

Solution

1. What size SSD is this? Generally, you DO want applications installed on the SSD. That's why you have it.
But during the install of an application, you can usually tell it where to install to.

2. Redirecting everything else?
Win 7 & 8: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1834397/ssd-redirecting-static-files.html
Win 8.1 & 10: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2024314/windows-redirecting-folders-drives.html

3. Steam games...

3. Steam games:
Steam games location
In the steam client:
Steam
Settings
Downloads
Steam Library Folders
Add library folder

Samsung 850 EVO (250g) and have a 2TB HDD. And ahh okay, never thought about the applications and changing it from there. Thank you!
