Seemingly high temps on Ryzen 2700x stock cooler / no OC

I am running Ryzen 2700x on ASRock x470 Master SLi board with 16gb G.SKILL 4300 memory with no OC and with default Bios settings.

Is 85C (Tdie reported by HWiNFO) under 100% load normal for Ryzen 2700x with stock cooler?
Ryzen Master reports 10C higher than that, but that must be the temp offset by AMD.

I tried reapplying the thermal paste but the temps are pretty much the same.
The clocks stay pretty much at 3.7 all the time as there doesn't seem to be much thermal headroom for the boost to kick in.

Have I perhaps mistaken some crucial part or is this just the way how things are?

My system has been so far stable with no issues whatsoever.

If you have the latest version of Ryzen Master, and a motherboard that is updated for the 2700x (either 470 or BIOS updated) then I think you have to evaluate your cooling. Thermal paste is one part. Correct pressure, and correct airflow are the other parts. Start by running your PC with the side panel off. Does that improve things? If so you have an airflow problem.

Thank you very much for your answer. I really appreciate it. With side panel off actually temps went higher, so I think that's not it.

I replaced my thermal paste to Thermal Grizzly and noticed much improvement in temperatures.
When stressing CPU to max load in Blender Render, now temperatures (tDie) stay well below 80C.

When gaming temperatures go to 55C in maximum, not higher than that.

I think this should be good enough temperatures and should be on the safe side right?

Double check with more software. When i updated my X470 board bios the temps shot up to 70-80c idle on stock clocks but other software was saying otherwise. my 1.33 version of HW monitor was showing the same but i updated it to 1.35 and the temps were reading 27-35C idle. CAM was also showing conflicting temps. Also make sure you have the newest version of Ryzen Master. For some reason older temp monitoring updates can case misreading temps. I tried reseating/applying paste to my x62 AIO with no changes prior also
