Hi Everyone,

is it really necessary to use ECC memory while building a custom NAS ?

Does Intel Extreme Board DZ77RE-75K ATX DDR3 LGA-1155 Motherboard support ecc memory ?


Any help will be appreciated.

No ecc is not necessary. Some people repurpose their old pc to a nas and they have no issues. I'd say it has more to do with what the nas is used for. For just home storage of movies, images, etc., no but if for a business or anything mission critical then it's recommended.
