I built a Ryzen 2400g system about a month ago and had no problems until today. My lights and fans turn on but I have no video signal and my computer will not shut off from the power button being held.

Yesterday I attempted installing a MSI GTX 1050ti 4GB (computer worked up to this point) but upon boot I had no signal from either the GPU or mobo. I even tried uninstalling the GPU and using both a HDMI and VGA,cable I still had no luck. I also attempted clearing the CMOS with no luck. I check all the power connections for the mobo and APU, along with ensuring the RAM was inserting all the way.

Full Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 5 2400g
MoBo: ASUS Prime B-350M-A/CSM
RAM: G.Skill TridentZ 3466mhz 2x4GB
CPU Cooler: Stock Wraith Stealth
GPU: MSI GTX 1050TI 4GB
PSU: EVGA BQ-500W 80+ Bronze
HDD: Seagate Momentus 750GB HDD
Case: Cooler Master Q300L

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Unfortunately I don't, I know beep codes would make this an easier diagnostic process. I just dont understand why install ing a graphics card would cause an error like this ugh

Quick update on my progress with my system, I checked via multimeter all the rails (mobo and cpu power) on my power supply and all of them are reading the correct voltage going out. Hopefully that will significantly reduce the possibilities that could be wrong with my computer.

The system isn't working even with the new GPU removed? Was anything bumped(RAM, cables, ect.)from the GPU install? Short of something getting knocked loose or damaged during the 1050 Ti install, the issue should have gone away from returning to original setup.

Correct, it is still not working even with the GPU uninstalled. I also disconnected and reconnected all cables and the RAM when I breadboarded it and put it back in the case and still does not work. And I don't see any signs of any damage either

I actually tried both methods, when the CMOS jumper method did not work, I removed the CMOS battery for 30 minutes and attempted to boot again with no luck

I know 100% I did not feel or see any ESD at any point. Would there be any potential for ESD without feeling it or seeing it? I made sure I grounded myself but idk what else I could probably try

It's possible. You might also unplug power from the board and reset the cmos again, but do that to make sure there isn't any current flowing in the board at all. While it is unplugged, press the power button a few times to try to discharge the board of any power that might be potentially left in it just in case.

Tried that, no luck ugh. Question (although it might be a long shot) when jumping the CMOS and resetting the BIOS options, will the BIOS revert to an earlier version? I had the latest BIOS for my board which supported Ryzen 2 APUs which the board did not stock. Just wondering if that could be a potential problem

Yeah i was hoping that wouldn't be the case. Odd thing is the led lighting is still on the motherboard. But I'll try replacing the mobo and see how it goes

I had gotten an Asus Prime B350M-E board, it was DOA, but the red led lights would be on, and it wouldn't power up, fan wouldn't spin etc. I had to exchange it. It seems there is some serious quality control problems with the AM4 boards and it does not seem limited to 1 brand. I had worked with 4 boards in the past 9 months, and 2 out of 4 had to be returned/exchanged.

Before the Asus board I had a ASRock AB350M Pro4. Thing started randomly hanging, BSOD, black screen, etc. after about 6 months. I also seen stacks of those at Microcenter being marked as returns/refurbs. The AM4 boards all seem to have really bad quality control.

The good news in all this is that I was able to talk to the manager at Microcenter and he gave me full store credit via the microcenter gift card for the ASRock even after 6 months which is well beyond the standard 30-day return/refund/exchange period.

Sorry, I stopped getting notifications of responses to this thread.

Update: I purchased a onboard POST speaker, hooked it up, and nothing. Tried removing all the ram so it was only the cpu and fan connected, no beeps. Reseated the CPU and tried it again with no RAM, no beeps. So as of now my only option is an RMA. I understand that the AM4 boards have terrible quality control, but just sucks that I now have to wait probably weeks to be back up and running. I'll post an update once. I get a replacement board and see how it goes

Update: Just received a new motherboard from ASUS as part of RMA process. I did everything exactly the same as last time, attempted to boot it, and it WORKS! So I guess it was just a coincidence, but as of today everything seems to be,working perfectly with the new motherboard, so I guess it was just a quality control issue. Luckily my RMA experience was fairly simple, they had it in their possession for 2-3 days before shipping me a new motherboard. Hope this thread helps any one that may have a similar situation!
