So i plugged an old usb drive in my laptop and it went crazyyyy
First it seems normal, i copied some files to my usb drive and pasted the files in my usb drive, everything was normal, the files were succesfully pasted. Than i unplugged and replugged the usb drive. The files i pasted were gone (they were shown but after replug the files are gone) and the icon... usually when i plug an usb flash drive to my laptop it shows a disk icon, like the icon of the hard disk. But my usb drive shows a white folder instead of a normal usb icon. Just a white folder. Help. Is this thing dead?

No, normly with other flashdrives, the files are safed without ejecting it. I just unplug it. I found out that the files arent gone. The flashdrive shows no data, but it does shows that the flash drive has used space. And with a recovery program i saw the hidden files. How do i fix this? The flash drive is empty i just want to make it work properly

Formating will delete the contents on the drive. I would recommend doing a disk check first, but if you can recover the important files, with your recovery software and the drive doesn't work, you can attempt to format the USB drive.
