Hi, Im looking to get a new CPU and a new Graphics card but im worried if they will be compatible with my motherboard
I have a ASUS P8H61, 16GBs of RAM, a GTX 550ti and a Intel Core i5-2400 CPU
I was looking to get a Intel Core i5-8400 and a GTX 1060 6GB or a 1070

I see, so is there any good CPU I can get that is compatible with it and could run games nicely?

Its an old old socket so you have to go second hand

If you can find them at the right price
Any of the xeon 1230/1245 & any of the i7's from the list below

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8H61/HelpDesk_CPU/

Anything less than those is not worth upgrading.

Your current cpu is going to be fairly consistent performance wise paired with a 1060 as it is.

Well it is nice for now I know but some games already need stronger ones for minimum, battlefield 1 for example, also if you dont mind telling me, which one from the list would you personally recommend?

Core i7-3770K is your ultimate goal and you will need a proper cooler for it as well.
Before you do CPU upgrade, do the GPU first.
Having a faster CPU won't make your games any better.
Having a faster GPU will make some games better, before the CPU bottle necks it, then change that if you are not satisfied.

I see, so how would a 1060 or a 1070 work with my current CPU if you can tell?
