For about $30 more then the i7 you can get the Ryzen 2700x with 8 real cores plus 8 more hyperthreaded cores.
Have a peek at tom's rendering review of it Ignore the lower single core results, I doubt anyone would ever use it. The multicore results show how superior it is over the i7.
