Hi there, i bought some pre build pc, specs are:
I5 2400
Intel dh67bl
1x4GB ddr3 @1333
Aurum 400w gold
I put in samsung evo 850 500gb and gtx 1050.
Now what i want to ask, since there are 4 ram slots, and i have one of 4gb will it work if i buy two more of 4gb, so i have 3 sticks total, that will be 12gb that is more than enough for that system?

Solution

Yes, we would have told you exactly this. IF they work at all they will work at the lowest memory settings. Except it's not just marketing; you just have to understand memory timings.
Might work, might not, mixing RAM is not advised and it is best to buy RAM in matched kits. Even 2 kits of the same make and model may have issues in the same system.

To stand the best chance of it working try to get the same make and model, if not possible then match the speed and timings.

Nah, that's not how that should go. If it doesn't work with the extra 4GB in there then you will just have to take it out. As mentioned above it's best to use RAM that all came in a kit. If it doesn't work with seperate RAM, it won't work by adding more RAM.

Ok so, i got 3 different sticks, 3 different manufaturers, 1 @1600 2@1333, they work in dual channel, only thing that happened is that mobo adopted all 3 sticks to lowest one, so they all work @1333 9-9-9-24, guess those 'kit' memories are just marketing, peace out
