How much power do I need?

I'm building a gaming pc and I would like to know if I should get a 650w or 750w psu. I went to the Cooler Master wattage calculator and it said my pc will consume 550 watts.
Here are my parts:
Gigabyte Amd AM3+ Motherboard 78LMT-USB3 R2
AMD FX 8350 Black Edition 4GHz Eight Core (FD8350FRHKBOX) Processor
Kingston HyperX 8 GB DIMM 1600 MHz DDR3 Memory
Seagate 1TB SATA 3.5 Hard Drive
SanDisk SSD 2.5" 240GB Internal Solid State Drive
EVGA 650 N1, 650W Power Supply
AeroCool Mid Tower Cases Xpredator-X1 Black Edition Black
Old Intel optical drive
I am also waiting on a gpu most likely a GTX 1050 TI

As you can see I currently have a psu but it has not worked at all even though it was brand new so I'm wondering if I should just get a new one with more watts or one that's better.

a decent 550w psu is plenty of power but again look at price. often a higher wattage psu is a better buy. if you're in the US, here a few good picks right now.

have you already bought these parts? the FX-8350 is a terrible choice for a new system unless it was $25 or less!!! the new ryzen 3 is a much better way to go.

if you already have the parts then a quality psu is a must as that cpu sucks power like crazy. a QUALITY 550w psu is more than enough power with the low powered gpu you picked. but more power won't hurt anything if it is a good price.

Yes, unfortunately I have already bought the parts. I realized afterward that I should have went with an AM4 build

will a 550w still work if I get a gtx 770 instead

it'll be ok if you don't try to superclock that fx chip. but the 770 is a 230w card and will take more power for an overclocked version. now you're getting close to the limits of a 550w psu. might consider looking into another 100w just to stay in the comfort zone if you have any overclocking in mind.
