Removing SSD and going back to SSD

Hello! I recently bought a new PC, and I want to pull the SSD out of my current computer to use as storage on my new PC. My current PC has an SSD (with Windows 10 installed), and an HDD. I would like to do a clean install of WIndows 10 on the HDD so that I can gift my current computer to my nephew (his first PC). I would then like to wipe my SSD and get it ready for my new computer.

My question is, how do I go about doing this?

I used Media Creation Tool to create a USB copy of the Windows 10 install file. Can I simply enter bios and set the computer to boot to USB, then clean install windows 10 on HDD. Then open file explorer and reformat my SSD? I wasnt sure if I install windows on the HDD, will it conflict with my existing OS on the SSD. Also, will Windows 10 let me clean install on the HDD while I still have the OS on my SSD?

I hope I did a good job asking the question, I am kind of thinking out loud here. Anyhow, any help is appreciated.

Ah, OK.
You can kill off whatever is on the 'old SSD" whenever.
Don't need to do it beforehand, or could be done in either system.

And just 'format' in File Explorer is not enough. That does not get rid of the original boot partitions, etc.

The easiest, fastest way, is the commandline diskpart, and the clean command. That will blow away the entirety of that drive, leaving it for you to use however.
Just be...

First, for the licensing:
Read and do this before you change any parts:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/20530/windows-10-reactivating-after-hardware-change
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3164428/windows-build-1607-activation.html

Then...
In the gift PC:
Install the HDD
Boot from your install USB
Install the OS
In the process, delete ALL existing partitions on the HDD, and let the install process to continue.
Done.
How to do a CLEAN installation of Windows 10

In your new PC:
Pretty much the same ting.
Connect the SSD
Boot from your install media
Install the OS, deleting all the existing partitions.

---------------------------------------
Of course...only one of these systems will have a valid license, unless you purchase a second one.

In my new PC, there will already be an OS installed on the SSD that comes with it (I bought from Maingear). With that in mind, do I need to reformat the old SSD (which will have a copy of Windows 10 on it) BEFORE I plug it into my new computer? If so, can I do that on my old PC once I install Windows 10 on the HDD?

Just be very, very careful as to which drive you're accessing in diskpart.
