Hello. I want you to know that im not an expert about these things.

So yeah, i have:
asus m5a97 PLUS motherboard,
fx 4300 cpu,
gtx 1050 ti gpu,
8gb ram

So iam here to hear, what you think about ryzen 1200 with my motherboard and maybe you can suggest me, to what cpu should i upgrade, will it be compatible with my motherboard, and will i be able to overclock ryzen cpu's. In short - will there be problems?

And yes, iam on budget.

You'd need an AM4 motherboard for Ryzen, so any Ryzen CPU is not compatible with your current motherboard. See the following for all compatible CPUs for that motherboard with the appropriate BIOS: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A97_PLUS/HelpDesk_CPU/

A Ryzen CPU will require new motherboard and RAM, and maybe even Windows licence (if using Windows). If you're on a budget then this is likely beyond what you want to or can spend.

The question is: what is the purpose of the upgrade?
