Hi guys I recently purchased a new router because I was not getting signal on my PC but when I started the router i could connect to it with all my devices there was no problem. But I could not connect it with my PC after. A while I found out the reason was because the wifi was on channel 13 I switched the channel and it worked but the speed dropped. What should I do my wireless adapter is a tp link Archer t6e ac1300
Thanks

The channel can be used at low power under FCC rules in North America, but rarely is used so not all devices would necessarily detect it even if broadcast. Just select from 1, 6, or 11 -- the three non-overlapping channels and select whichever is the least used around you. 2.4GHz penetrates matter better than 5GHz.

And to be clear, this does not apply in the world outside North America, where 13 is used -- but it overlaps 11 so is not a good choice anywhere. Devices usually have an easier time rejecting information on other wireless that is on the same channel compared to an overlapping but different channel.

Channel 13 is a 2.4GHz channel that is used outside of North America. Even if optimally set up 2.4GHz has lower maximum speeds, particularly compared to 5GHz AC..

If your router supports 5GHz you may get a faster connection by using that, particularly if your router is AC capable like your PC adapter.

Assuming that your router is AC capable, you may want to change the SSID to indicate the AC link so that you can specifically select it over 2.4GHz.

Thanks for the reply my router is dual band but my pc is far away from the router there are two walls between them so the signal of 5g band is vey low my isp speed is only 40 Mbps only so I don't think the maximum speed would be a problem

But the main problem is why can't I see the channel 13 wifi I have another potato pc that can detect it even my phone near my pc can detect it but my pc can't this is what I am trying to solve
Sorry I am replying from my iPad so I can't quote you
