So the other day when I tried to boot up my computer it told me it was trying to resolve some issues, after a while it started trying to repair my D: drive (my 2 TB HDD). This failed and my computer was never able to start. I unplugged the HDD's SATA port when starting my computer and it booted up just fine. now I'm trying to plug the SATA port back into my HDD while the computer is running but it doesn't appear in my disk manager, or device manager. I know it appears in my BIOS. How can I get it to show up so I can try to repair it or reformat it? I should also mention I have a SSD as well and it only doesn't run when the HDD is plugged in.

Solution
First off you should NEVER plug or unplug your sata cable on an HDD or an SSD while the Pc is on, it'll most certainly kill the HDD. I know because I've done it before. Now if I were you I'd try plugging that HDD(with the pc off) onto another pc to see if it works fine.
