Vga to hdmi to soundbar not working

Hi. I have the following connection:
From pc(running windows 8.1) using a vga to hdmi connection, connecting to my LG Soundbar(sj4) with hdmi and then to lg tv with hdmi.
I double checked the vga to hdmi converter on another tv without soundbar and working fine.
Can it be a software or hardware issue? I tried looking for a driver for the sound bar but cant find anything.

Vga doesn't carry an audio signal.

so your other soundbar must be picking up the sound from bluetooth or something else.

The converter used is vga and audio compatible using the 3.5 audio jack

Have you tried a normal 3.5mm connection to the soundbar to see if that works. More often than not those whatever connectors + audio to hdmi don't really work that well. Why not directly connect by hdmi?

Havn't done a direct link yet. Will try as well. However, will this connection have an affect when connecting my xbox to the bar?
Pc only have a vga output.
