Hey guys! Right now im using a rx480 8gb, i5 3550, and 16 gigs of ddr3 ram.

Now i want to stream using obs while running a game of the same pc like pubg fortnite that kinda stuff.

I assume that my problem is the cpu here. So what do you guys suggest to upgrade to. Trying to keep it under $400 (So im going to need ram cpu and motherboard) any help is appreciated thanks!

P.s also leave any suggestions that might be over 400 ik its probably a low price for this stuff.

That's a bit of a tough question. It really depends on what games you'd like to play. Your GPU is rather high end so it should have built in h264+h265 encoding (I have RX550 and it has that) So you'll need OBS to take advantage of that. Basically it uses some GPU power to do it while not sacrificing any cpu cycles atall. Now that that's out of the way if you still want a new CPU you could get an i7 3770 https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIADT26MG8437&cm_re=i7_3770-_-274-000A-003E3-_-Product For 180 dollars. And then pick out a cooler. You wouldn't need a new motherboard. Possibly not a new cooler. It is the same socket after all.

Okay sounds good to me thanks for taking the time to write that! So h264 is a video encoder right? And ill definitely check out that i7.

180 for a 3770 is qutie a bad price since you can get them used for about 110$.

I know you can get them used for 110 but I didn't want to suggest an ebay link to a stranger
