Xbox 360 game will not go past Xbox 360 logo

I just bought a new DVD reader for my Xbox 360. When I try to play a game it will not go past the Xbox 360 logo.

It's been a long time since I did any work on 360's, but if I recall correctly... there's a "key" assigned to the original optical drive in the 360. If you replace the drive, the key will no longer be the same and the 360 won't boot up normally. There was a software called Jungle Flasher that allowed you to extract the key from the old drive & transfer it to the replacement drive.
