Random Ping Spikes While Using Wireless Extender's Ethernet Port

I am currently using the TP-Link RE200 for gaming but I've been getting random lag spikes. A few months ago when I tried using it for gaming it worked perfectly fine. I stopped using it because I was able to move my computer closer to my router which I just used the routers ethernet. However, I had to move my computer farther away from the router and I was forced to use the extender again. From the time that I stopped using the extender for the first time, I had upgraded my internet plan but stayed with the same company (Spectrum) and that's the only thing that had really changed. I've troubleshooted with it for a week now and the only solution to my problem, changing the channels it's on, has barely worked. If anyone has the solution to my problem please, help me out here. If you have any more questions about the problem in the effort to help, feel free to leave a comment asking for more information.
Thanks!

Need to be certain that your configuration is as it should be.

Does the following link present the User Guide for your TP-Link RE200?

https://static.tp-link.com/1910012003_RE200(EU)(US)(UK)(AU)_V2_UG.pdf

If so, work through the setup again being very careful to follow each listed step.

Note that there are 3 setup methods available along with a chapter (Chapter 3) covering configuration.

If the extender still does not work then check the system logs per Section 5.7, page 31.

The logs may provide some clue as to what is happening or perhaps not happening.

Your objective is to narrow down the problem or the problem's source by elimination.

Couldn't fix it but thanks for your help. I went ahead and bought a powerline adapter and if that doesn't work then I'll have to drill a hole in the wall.
