having a hard time trying to figure it out have two y splitters but just get the sound right

how to hook up sanyo amplifier to my older jvc receiver that only has rca plugs and i want to be able to use y phone to plug i

Your post is a bit confusing, you are connecting a phone to a amp and receiver ? A receiver should have an amp already, why are you trying to connect another amp to that? List exactly what you have, brands and models, and what you are trying to get done here.
