Need help to make the right upgrade!

I own a HP Compaq Elite 8300 PC Microtower
Chipset: Intel Q77 Express
CPU: I5 - i5-3470
RAM: 2GB RAM

I also have Geforce 9800GTX

what I have thought to buy:

and probably a GPU which is hard to find for a reasonable price.

did I chose the right memory?
any suggestion are welcomed.

320w psu is what is going to hold you back

gtx 1050 ti make sure it is a version that does NOT require a 6-pin pcie connector

post a picture of the inside and back of the case, you may be severely restricted on the gpu's size as well

I would suggest GTX 1050Ti for that setup, may have to use lower settings in some games but should be good enough for 720p/1080p gaming.

yep, I had to changr my 320w psu to 500 as I couldn't turn it on with the 9800gtx, the 9800 is too long for the first pci-e so it only goes into the 2nd slot however it's not a x16 slot as far as I know. so it all comes down that I cannot plug a full length GPU, psu isn't a problem.

You don't need to install all games/programs on same SSD, just need it for OS, old HDD can be used to install larger games/programs on without loosing much of file system performance.

Once you install OS on the new SSD, you can clean up HDD by deleting all partitions used for OS and also OS partition on it.

Just don't delete any system reserved partitions(should be about 500MB). I did that once and learned why I shouldn't have.

Why not ?? That disk will not be used for OS any more !!!! If OS is installed to SSD with old HDD disconnected partitions on old HDD don't matter any more.

the bad reviews have nothing to do with the ssd itself, I wonder if there is any difference

I never heard of that first one but have 2 Silicone power SSDs in two computers for last 3 -4 years and they are good.

no, it just makes it so you can place the gpu wherever you want in the case

just make sure to buy at least a proper pcie 2.0 x16 one
