Hello,

I've decided to build my first pc, but I am not sure what parts to get. My budget is 1000 CAD, and I would like a black and white theme please. Thanks in advance for any help :D

Prices are high in Canada. My best advice is to make a trip to the states to purchase the parts.

This will be a good midrange build. It is $90 over your budget, but if you go with cheaper parts, they will show their age a lot quicker.

You could leave the SSD out in lieu of a better GPU but having those faster speeds is nice and won't require a reinstall of Windows later on or having to transfer the OS to the SSD.

Yeah, 90 dollars over my budget will be fine. However, do you guys know what cables the parts come with? I've watched some pc builds and the "ketchup and mustard" yellow, red and black cables are the ugliest i've ever seen, I'm willing to spend some extra dough for some custom white and black cables if possible, thanks.

Also forgot to mention that I don't need to buy a ssd or a hdd, already have a crucial 256 gb ssd and a 1tb wd blue hard drive.

The newer PSU cables are clean, non of that fuglyness on newer better quality units. Knowing that you have the storage I put in a better GPU/PSU (modular).

Oh ok, thanks. Are there any power supply's that come with white and black cables though? And a black and white motherboard? Willing to increase budget to 1100 for the custimization options. I'm also willing to wait for GPU prices to go down, not in a real rush or anything. And would a ryzen 5 1500x overclocked be faster than the i5 8400? Not really sure on that one. Thanks for all the help.

No, a 1500x wont be faster than an 8400. Finding a white motherboard with your budget wont be easy. You will need to find a black motherboard with RGB and you can set the RGB to white. But that gets expensive.

They make PSUs with colored cables, but they are expensive and with your budget not practical. Use the cable extensions and you will never know.
