I just bought pc parts and put it together today. I am using the Ryzen 5 2400g processor and a msi b350 pc mate mobo. The red led beside the cpu label is always lighting up. Is there anything I can do or do I have faulty software? It might also be hat the bios version isn’t updated for this processor. HELP

Solution
That red LED next to the CPU label states that either your CPU is faulty or MoBo can't connect to the CPU.

Most of the times, all that is needed to do is updating BIOS to the latest version. If that fails, re-seat the CPU and also look if there are any bent pins either on CPU or in MoBo socket. If all is in order and you still get that red LED next to the CPU label, RMA your CPU.

Though, do note that you need compatible CPU (Ryzen 1st gen, e.g R5 1400) in the MoBo, so you can access BIOS and update it. Rather than buying compatible CPU just to update the BIOS, take your PC to the PC repair shop and let them do the BIOS update.

Solution
msi and other mb vendor have a small cmos rev sticker on the mb. see what rev the mb is at. your error can be caused from the mb shorting out...cpu cooler on to tight. bad power from the power supply or you forgot to plug in the eps cables to the mb. the cpu not all they way down in the slot.
