Hello, for starters I have the Asus P8Z77M motherboard. Recently I bought a new fan. I plugged my new fan into a 4 pin fan header named chas_1. I thought if a fan header has 4 pins that meant it was capable of controlling the fan through PWM, but my fan's behavior would say otherwise. One of the fan's selling point is the LED on it will not change its brightness when the RPM is varied. When I adjust my fan's RPM the LED's brightness clearly changes. Does this mean the motherboard is controlling the fan through DC? Nowhere in the bios's fan settings did I see an option to set the header to control a fan through either DC or PWM. Replies are appreciated.

The reason I assume this is due to what this person says in this youtube video ( I timed stamped the url for you ). I got one of these fans due to then fact that they were on sale. https://youtu.be/ghjEeFDjw38?t=543
