After a weekend away my PC started to have some issues while connected to the internet through switch (couldn't finish upload test or upload anything, and web pages were loading very slowly)

While connected to the router directly everything works just fine. I tried 2 switches and none of them work for me, for my roomates they work just fine.

Currently after netsh ip, winsock resets, ipconfig renew etc while connected through the switch it shows connection to the internet but none web pages would load.

I should add I am using Win 8.1, also tried completely uninstalling ethernet drivers

It almost has to be something wrong with your PC even though it is very hard to say what.

The unmanaged switches most people have are extremely simplistic devices. Although over simplified they pretty much just act as a ethernet port extender. They have no concept of ip address or web sites or anything like that. They pass data only via mac addresses which pretty much never changes and even that is transparent to the switch it does not block or filter anything.

You key test is to ping your router ip address. If that works then the local lan connection is fine and the problem is something else.

Pretty much since you have tried mulitple switches it lead to a cable problem where a cable works on some equipment but not all. Now if you get ping response from your router connected via the switch then the cable is good and it must be a software issue on the pc.

Weird part is that everything worked fine before the weekend that I've left. Tested multiple cables from switch too and it's same effect.

And one of the switches is actually a router set up as a switch
