Hi all,
I recently learnt about CPU throttling so I decided to give a go at a CPU stress test (prime95) to stress my CPU and check how it goes.
My CPU is an i7 960 which is meant to run at 3.2Ghz but under stress tests, it only shows as CPU Usage 55% @ 1.74Ghz.
Is this a throttle or just default? I am worried because even under stress tests, the CPU usage is only 55% and the frequency is not matching what it should be at.
I have never overclocked or messed with CPU voltage and frequency settings and i have also cleared the CMOS before retrying the test.
My specs are:
i7 960 @ 3.2Ghz
12GB DDR3
GT 1030
600w PSU
ga-x58a-ud7 Gigabyte MOBO
Thanks for reading and answering
